What This Product Does
The 75mm (high-temperature, high-wear) PDC core drill bit recovers cores from small-diameter boreholes in formations that generate excessive heat during drilling. The body retains its hardness and structural integrity at temperatures up to 350 degrees C, whereas standard bodies begin to soften above 250 degrees C. Drill operators use this bit when standard matrix core bits fail prematurely due to body erosion or gauge washout in high-temperature or high-abrasion conditions.

Performance Advantages
In abrasive formations at 60-120 MPa with borehole temperatures above 150 degrees C, the body maintains gauge within 0.8mm oversize after 400m, roughly twice the gauge retention of standard matrix bodies under identical conditions. Core recovery stays at 75-88% even in partially dry boreholes. In geothermal gradient boreholes, this bit continues performing to 800m where formation temperatures reach 200+ degrees C, while standard matrix bits typically require replacement by 400-500m.
Application Scenarios
Geothermal gradient measurement boreholes where temperatures exceed 150 degrees C. Inside-casing coring for deepening existing water wells in arid regions. Underground coal mine rock coring in hot mine environments below 600m depth. Core drilling in dry formations with air circulation. Deep mineral exploration where diamond bits are too slow and standard PDC bits overheat.
Recommended Usage Parameters
Rotation: 120-200 RPM for soft, 80-140 RPM for hard. WOB: 600-1200 kgf. In dry-drilling conditions, maintain minimum 3 m/s annular air velocity at the bit face. When switching from wet to dry drilling mid-hole, reduce WOB by 30% for the first 5m. Do not exceed 350 degrees C bit body temperature.
