FAQ

How can I request a quotation or technical consultation?

Contact yanceychang@zzsungood.com. For quotation, provide: target formation type/hardness, hole diameter/depth, drilling method, rig specifications, estimated quantity, and delivery destination. Technical consultation response within 1 business day; formal quotation within 1–2 business days.

What shipping and logistics support do you provide for international orders?

Coordinate with major freight forwarders serving Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, and South America. Standard ocean freight in 20ft/40ft containers with optimized palletizing. Export-grade wooden cases with moisture-proof barrier lining. Air freight and express courier available for urgent requirements. Container loading plans, packing lists with HS codes, and shipping documentation support provided.

What quality control system does SUNGOOD TECH maintain?

Three-stage QC system: (1) Incoming material inspection — alloy composition via spectrometry, carbide grade confirmation; (2) In-process monitoring — brazing temperature control, cutter alignment measurement; (3) Final outgoing inspection — 100% visual inspection, gauge diameter verification, hardness testing (HRA 78–90 / HV 7500–10000+), bond integrity verification. Traceable records included.

What are your minimum order quantities and lead times for custom products?

MOQ varies by product category and customization complexity. Standard catalog items have flexible MOQs suitable for trial orders. Fully custom designs with new molds require larger minimum batches. Typical lead time: 15–25 working days after order confirmation and drawing approval. Repeat orders of standard products: 10–15 working days.

Does SUNGOOD TECH provide full OEM and ODM customization?

Yes. Full OEM/ODM services across all drilling tool product lines. Customization options: PDC cutter arrangement, blade count, body material (steel/matrix), gauge protection design, nozzle configuration, private labeling with custom packaging, and thread connection adaptation to regional standards (API Reg, API IF, BEC, etc.).

What applications are DTH hammers best suited for?

DTH hammers deliver pneumatic percussion energy directly to the bit at hole bottom, minimizing energy loss vs. top-hammer systems. Ideal for hard-rock drilling: mining blast holes, water well drilling through granite/basalt, geothermal boreholes, and construction foundation drilling. Maintain consistent ROP beyond 200m depth.

What is the difference between steel tooth and TCI tricone bits?

Steel tooth bits have cutting teeth machined from cone forging; cost-effective for soft formations, water well drilling, and shallow wells. TCI bits use pressed tungsten carbide insert cutters; far outlast steel tooth in medium-hard abrasive formations; standard for deep wells, hard-rock mining, and geothermal drilling.

How do I read a tricone bit IADC code?

IADC code uses 3 digits + optional 4th letter. Digit 1: formation hardness (1–3 steel tooth, 4–8 TCI). Digit 2: hardness subdivision (1–4). Digit 3: bearing type (1–3 open, 4–7 sealed). Optional letter: special features (A=air, G=gauge protection, H=horizontal, M=motor). Example: IADC 637 = TCI, hard formation, sealed journal bearing, gauge protection.

What types of PDC cutters does SUNGOOD TECH supply?

We supply three main PDC cutter profiles: flat-top (soft formations, Mohs 2–5, fastest ROP), arc-shaped/convex (medium-hard, Mohs 5–8, +20–35% service life), and concave (hard formations, Mohs 6+, directional drilling, promotes chip evacuation). Industry-standard 1308 size (13 mm × 8 mm) is our most commonly stocked specification.

What is the difference between steel body and matrix body PDC bits?

Steel body bits are machined from high-strength alloy steel, offering lower cost and easier repairability; suitable for large-diameter applications and rebuildable. Matrix body bits are formed by sintering tungsten carbide powder, providing superior erosion resistance in abrasive formations and maintaining profile longer in directional drilling.
