Product Description

The 7 7/8 inch IADC 537 Milled Steel Tooth Tricone Bit is engineered for tight borehole drilling in medium to medium-hard formations, where compact bit size, controlled deviation, and sustained penetration rate are critical to project efficiency and cost control.
At 7 7/8" gauge, this bit is widely used in directional drilling programs, slim-hole exploration wells, geothermal projects, and secondary wellbores where reduced borehole diameter lowers casing costs and accelerates overall completion. The IADC 537 classification optimizes tooth geometry for hard shale, dense sandstone, and moderately cemented limestone. For operations demanding a wider borehole in the same IADC 5-series formation range, the 9 7/8 inch IADC 537 Tricone Bit provides the same formation-rated performance at a larger gauge.
The compact cone assembly reduces lateral vibration in smaller boreholes, protecting both the bit and the BHA from shock-induced damage during extended runs. The 4 1/2 REG rotary shouldered connection provides secure integration into slim-hole drill string assemblies. Custom tooth profiles and bearing configurations available for specialized applications.
